MAINTENANCE TIPS
You are particularly fond of a piece of jewelry and wear it on a daily basis, so it is normal for it to age over time.
He will have to suffer blows, scratches etc ...
It is therefore important to take care of it, and maintain it frequently.
Here are our tips for you to enjoy it for as long as possible:
-
Store your jewelry away from light, individually, to avoid contact with other parts.
-
Take it off when sleeping and when exercising.
-
Avoid contact with water, perfume, cosmetics, and household products.
-
Regularly, using a chamois or a soft cloth, rub your jewel, in order to restore its shine.
SILVER 925
925/1000 th silver, or solid silver, is a precious metal, widely used in jewelry. It is composed of 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% other metals (usually copper is most often used). This alloy makes silver harder, and therefore easier to work.
A silver jewel that is not rhodium will blacken over time. One of the main causes is skin acidity. In order to maintain it, it is necessary to regularly rub the jewel with a chamois cloth, or a soft cloth.
You can also use a silver cleaning product, which you find for sale at your jeweler.
THE GOLD PLATED
Gold plated is a resistant metal (copper, zinc, brass, silver) coated with a thickness of about 3 microns of gold.
The advantage of gold plating is that it looks a lot like gold jewelry, but much cheaper.
But be careful, it will not evolve in the same way as a gold jewel!
Over time, gold plated jewelry can tarnish and flake off, so you have to be extra vigilant on a daily basis.
It is important not to wear them when you do your household chores, when you take a shower, or even when you wash your hands.
Like silver, it is advisable to store them in their original packaging.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel is an alternative to silver and gold plated. It is resistant and durable over time, it does not chip, and is not very sensitive to scratches. Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, carbon, nickel and chromium.
These metals are needed to form a stainless surface layer. If you are allergic to nickel, you will have no problem wearing stainless steel jewelry as the nickel particles are trapped in the alloy, preventing it from breaking free.
That's why that steel is an anti-allergenic metal and does not irritate the skin.
In order to maintain your stainless steel jewelry, you can clean them with a mixture of hot water and baking soda, or even with washing-up liquid by rinsing them well several times.
